Joanne Sasvari is a Vancouver-based independent writer-editor. Certified by the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), she is an expert in wine and spirits, and also writes frequently about food, travel and design. She is currently the editor of The Alchemist, Vitis and Westcoast Homes & Design magazines, and her recent credits also include Food & Wine, Postmedia Networks, Edible Vancouver, YAM, Destination BC and Winebc.com. She is past president of the Travel Media Association of Canada (2010-2012), co-founder of Vancouver Cocktail Week, and author of the books Paprika: A Spicy Memoir from Hungary, Frommer’s 2015 EasyGuide to Vancouver & Victoria, the IACP- and Taste Canada-shortlisted Wickaninnish Cookbook, Vancouver Eats, Island Eats and forthcoming Okanagan Cooks.
