Margaret Deefholts, a former TMAC member, was also a mover and shaker in the international Anglo-Indian community as well as an expert on travel in India. 

I remember her telling me when I met her 30 years ago that she kept being asked if she had any Canadian work experience when she was applying for jobs. Finally she said tartly: "No! And, if you don't give me a job I will never get any!" She got the job with a major mining company and became a respected expert in her field.

Sadly, she died suddenly a few months after this article was published in various publications. RiP Margaret.
