Lonely Planet
Hello, I’m Pamela, a travel and food writer based in Québec City. I’ve lived in Québec for seven years, and when it comes to learning French the struggle is real. I am a self-proclaimed croissant snob, a road trip addict, and a lover of quirky/random/odd things.
I run a website called Urban Guide Quebec, which focuses on travel, food and culture in Quebec. While Quebec City is the main focus, I also cover other parts of the Province and have some Canadian content as well.
In addition to my website, I write freelance articles on destinations in Quebec, Canada, and beyond. My work has appeared in Lonely Planet, Toronto Star, Going, Skylife, Saintlo, et al. I have also produced content for tourism websites like Québec Cité, Québec Maritime, and Lethbridge Tourism.
Every couple of years I fact-check and update guidebooks for DK Eyewitness.
I like slow travel and deep dives. I drive down obscure roads and stop for strange town names. Outdoor markets are always a good idea, and yes, I want to try your butter tarts!
