Maureen Fitzhenry
Media relations manager
Canadian Museum for Human Rights
Maureen Fitzhenry is a senior communications professional with over 30 years' experience as a journalist and media relations expert. Because she understands what journalists need to tell a good story, she is able to help them access the best angles, information, interviews and visuals to make their stories come alive. Maureen spent 15 years in journalism — eight of those at The Winnipeg Free Press, where she was named the newspaper’s first (and still only) female city editor. After a five-year stint as a reporter in Australia (including coverage of the 2000 Olympic Games), she worked for CBC Radio in Winnipeg before launching a new career in Corporate Communications. She worked at the Canadian Wheat Board for 11 years before accepting a position as Media Relations Manager at the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights in 2012.
