Karyl Leigh has a passion for places and a taste for tourism. She could spot a Holiday Inn before she could read, landed her first hospitality job at age 14, worked at one of America's leading theme parks in college and eventually landed at a DMO. She joined Development Counsellors International (DCI’s) in 1998, and has since worked with DMOs on every continent except Antarctica. Today she's the President of DCI’s Tourism Practice which includes divisions responsible for tourism research and award-winning campaigns in public relations/consumer marketing; digital/social media marketing; travel trade marketing; and meeting and incentive sales. Her purview includes strategy, tactical planning, and management of staff in DCI offices in Toronto, New York and Los Angeles. Karyl Leigh holds a master’s degree in global marketing, is professionally accredited in marketing communications by the International Advertising Association and has completed her CDME with the Destinations International. In her spare time, there’s nothing she likes more than exploring the world and sharing what she's learned with family and friends.
