Josephine Matyas is a Kingston, ON resident and award-winning, full-time, freelance writer and author with a passion for the outdoors and travel that leaves a small environmental footprint. For the past 10 years, she has added to her focus with extensive experience writing about road trips, music destinations and RV travel.

Jo has published widely in print magazines, newspapers and on websites. She also writes about lifestyle and culinary topics, but specializes in travel pieces about less-developed destinations. Increasingly, this includes travel by RV with a focus on provincial, national and state parks in Canada and the United States.

Combining wanderlust and writing is a way to feed her addiction to travel, new places and interesting people. Soft outdoor adventure, history, music and wild places around the world are topics she never tires of exploring.

Jo has also been privileged to be a member of several TMAC boards and committees and is also a member of The Writers' Union of Canada and the Society of American Travel Writers.

Often ready to travel on short notice, she also collaborates with TMAC member, Gary Cralle to produce complete works combining their skills for photography and the written word.
