About Me

I’m Darby Svendsen, the Social Media & Content Lead at Tourism Kelowna. I lead the creation and execution of digital content that showcases the people, places, and experiences that make the Central Okanagan unique. From local events and hidden gems, to seasonal highlights and visitor inspiration, I love being able to tell Kelowna’s story in ways that resonate across platforms.

I collaborate with creators, influencers, writers, and industry partners to craft content that connects with both visitors and locals. Whether building a content strategy, coordinating a media partnership, or supporting a local FAM tour, my goal is to keep Kelowna top of mind as a vibrant and welcoming destination.

About Kelowna

Welcome to Kelowna, where sun-drenched vineyards, shimmering lake views, and farm-fresh flavours come together in the heart of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. A four-season destination, Kelowna is a place where outdoor adventure and culinary excellence go hand in hand.

Savour local bounty at lakeside patios, stop by roadside farm stands, and explore the region’s thriving agricultural community. Weave your way through orchards and vineyards, meet the makers behind award-winning wines, and soak up the best of the Okanagan at your own pace. Hop on a bike and discover Kelowna’s expansive cycling network, including the scenic Okanagan Rail Trail that winds along lake and land.

Set your sights on rolling trails, paddle into hidden coves, or hike to panoramic lookouts where the valley unfolds before you. Every path leads to something unforgettable.

We respectfully acknowledge that Kelowna is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the syilx/Okanagan people, who have cared for this land for generations.

Whether you’re here to taste, trek, sip, or stretch out under the sun, Kelowna is where the good life is always in season—and where every visit brings a new story to tell.

About Tourism Kelowna

Kelowna’s $2.4 billion dollar visitor economy is a major economic driver, attracting 2.2 million overnight trips that generate over 12,600 jobs, $226 million in tax revenue, and $540 million in direct spending at local businesses. Our goal is to establish the Central Okanagan as North America’s four-season, outdoor destination of choice.
