This webinar will offer an opportunity to learn about Indigenous tourism in B.C. – what Indigenous tourism means, what sets it apart from other tourism, innovation during Covid-19. Presenters will talk about how to travel responsibly and respectfully into Indigenous communities, both for media (participating in FAMs) and the public. We plan to include tools and resources, including ITBC’s new Trip Planner App and online resources for travellers to know before they go, including useful details on which stakeholders and businesses are open and how to travel safely, along with virtual and bookable experiences.

Candace Campo and James Cowpar will be talking about 2021, their experience with the realities of COVID-19 and what they are hoping to see in the future from an Indigenous travel perspective.

This webinar is suitable for both industry and media.

Paula Amos is of Hesquiaht and Squamish Nation descent, born and raised in the Nuu-chah-nulth Territory on Vancouver Island. She has worked in several positions for Indigenous Tourism BC over the past seven years, bridging the opportunities between the Indigenous tourism industry and mainstream tourism.
