With is 65,000 km2 and its 22 000 lakes and rivers, the region of Abitibi-Temiscamingue offers an abundant nature, where all the outdoors experiences are not only possible, but are also accessible near the cities.  Nevertheless, we sometimes feel isolated from the world, with, in front of us, a landscape of forest as far as the eyes can see or a desert lake, where only the loon swims. We can easily imagine why the Anishinaabe chose this territory, over 8,000 years ago.

With its five main cities, Abitibi-Temiscamingue offers a wide range of museums, varied and original activities, but also numerous festivals and a dynamic culture, wich can even be seen in public art with its fountains, murals, and its majestic sculptures.
