TMAC 2015: Our Roots Are Showing
June 10 - 13, 2015 | Peterborough & the Kawarthas
Dear Conference Attendee,
We can't believe it's finally here! After months and months of planning (and selling out media marketplace!) TMAC will be hosting you and 210 fellow TMACers at its 2015 Conference and AGM in Peterborough, ON.
Tweet for the conference; Tweet for the contest
For all you twitter bugs out there, be sure to tweet #TMACPtbo and follow @PKTourism. Plus, Peterborough & the Kawarthas have partnered with Parks Canada for a Lockmaster Contest. This is an opportunity for 4 delegates to operate one of two locks that delegates will pass through on their way to the opening reception on Thursday, June 11. Full contest details, including how to participate, can be found here.
It’s a casual affair
As you get set to pack your bags for Peterborough, the first important note to make is that the entire conference dress code is CASUAL. This includes marketplace, evening social programming, conference sessions and especially local tours.
Getting to Peterborough
Some of you are flying in; driving on your own; taking the train – so many ways of getting to Peterborough! For those of you arriving into Toronto, Peterborough & the Kawarthas have set up three shuttle options:
If you are still in need of booking a shuttle, information on how to do so can be found here.
What to expect
This year there are a few venues that will be hosting core conference activities:
On your day of arrival, the TMAC Registration and Information Desk will be at the Holiday Inn in the Tarragon Room (just off the hotel lobby).
Peterborough & the Kawarthas have arranged for shuttle to all of the offsite venues. Shuttles will depart from the Holiday Inn and Best Western on a rotating schedule. Shuttle schedules for the day will be posted in each hotel lobby and we will be sure to remind you onsite with the housekeeping announcements.
If you’re looking to explore the city further, delegates can ride the Peterborough city bus for FREE by showing their TMAC conference name badge.
This year it will be hosted offsite from the host hotels at Trent University. Those industry members wanting to set up their appointment tables early can do so on Wednesday, June 10 between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Shuttle busses will be running during this time from the Holiday Inn and the Best Western.
Just a reminder that appointment tables will be shared (i.e. two appointment schedules per table). Please be kind to your table partners and limit your display items to a minimum.
For Thursday marketplace, be prepared to head off on your local tour IMMEDIATELY after the last scheduled appointment. There will not be the opportunity to go back to the hotel to change or to drop items off. Please dress according to weather and tour activity.
Once marketplace is set up, TMAC will have an onsite secure room to lock materials overnight if required.
Breakfast for each marketplace day will be at the host hotels - not Trent University. If you are staying in alternate accommodation that is not one of the host hotels, breakfast will be at your own expense. Light snacks and refreshments will be served at Trent University. Ensure you give yourself enough time to eat and transfer for the start of marketplace.
